In 2017 Earth Peace started serving gourmet vegan food on Los Angeles’ skid row, to the many homeless men and women who stay there.
There were other organizations serving meat, and we wanted to represent the peace that vegan eating has to offer, and the health, and of course, the love.
Our first outing happened on the day of my 15th birthday January 2017. We were humbled that 50 volunteers came out to support our effort, and major Los Angeles eateries did as well. Erewhon Natural Market, Mohawk Bend, Donut Friend, Suncafe Organic and Au Lac all donated gorgeous and gourmet hot and fresh vegan entrees and sides for the event and our guests loved it. 3,000 homeless men and women enjoyed the food we served out of the generosity of our food sponsors that day.
Earth Peace continues to serve food to the homeless of Los Angeles and we salute their health by serving zero cholesterol, fresh foods packed with protein, micronutrients, fiber and flavor. Thank you to all the community partners who made this happen and continue to help us make it happen.
